ACT Cemeteries and Crematoria Management Market Sounding

The ACT Government is conducting a market sounding to seek views from organisations and private sector parties in the cemeteries and crematoria industry on different delivery options for the proposed Southern Memorial Park, and the role of the private sector in operating and managing cemeteries and crematoria in the ACT more broadly.

The objectives of the market sounding are to:

  • communicate and the Government’s objectives for cemeteries and crematoria in the ACT, such as ensuring that culturally diverse backgrounds and all burial preferences are considered;
  • test market interest, capability and capacity to deliver, operate or maintain the Southern Memorial Park and cemeteries and crematoria more broadly in the ACT;
  • assess market views on the preferred procurement approach, timeline and packaging options, including any potential constraints or risks that may impact on participation; and
  • understand opportunities for innovative value for money solutions and efficiencies in the delivery or operation of the Southern Memorial Park and cemeteries and crematoria more broadly in the ACT.

It should be noted that this market sounding is being undertaken for the purpose of information gathering and is not the first step in a competitive procurement process.

If you believe that your company or organisation could provide relevant insights to the market sounding process, please contact tccs.bdu@act.gov.au to register your interest by 21 September 2018.
