Transport Canberra and City Services

The ACT Government completed studies on the traffic conditions on several streets in Holt in 2010, 2013 and 2018. The aim of these studies was to identify traffic concerns in the area, develop options for improvement and recommend a program of works.

The studies involved a technical analysis of traffic speed, volume and crash data in the area. A traffic management scheme was then finalised to improve traffic conditions in the area.

The priority traffic management measures in the area were implemented in 2011, 2014 and 2018 to mitigate concerns regarding speeding, pedestrian safety and intersection safety.

These measures included kerb and linemarking improvements, chicanes with pedestrian facilities and speed humps on Spofforth Street, Beaurepaire Crescent, Messenger Street, Trickett Street, Starke Street and Hardwick Crescent.

The streets in Holt will continue to be monitored, and traffic conditions reviewed prior to any further implementations.

Any future implementations will be done in consultation with directly affected residents.
