Flemington Road shared path

Project description

We are constructing accessible, functional and attractive cycling and walking infrastructure that enables safe travel, encourages more use of public transport and reduces reliance on cars. A new shared path will be constructed along the eastern side of Flemington Road between Well Station Drive and Randwick Road. This new path will provide better and safer access between Franklin and Mitchell, particularly to and from the Mitchell commercial precinct and the light rail stops.

This path will be the first section constructed of the Flemington Road principal cycle route, identified in the Moving Canberra 2019-2045 Integrated Transport Strategy as key to connecting the City to Gungahlin via Dickson.

Construction will be carried out in two stages. The first stage to be constructed will be between Randwick Road and Morisset Road with the second stage to follow from Morisset Road to Well Station Drive.

Funding Value: $2.684 million was provided over two years in the 2019-20 ACT Budget.
