Gungahlin-Belconnen connecting road duplication

Project description

The ACT Government is proposing to upgrade the road connecting Gungahlin and Belconnen to a dual carriageway between Ginninderra Drive and the Barton Highway.

There are around 20,000 vehicle movements each day on this road and this is only going to increase with further housing development in surrounding areas.

Key features of the duplication include:

  • two lanes in each direction between Ginninderra Drive and the Barton Highway
  • 6.4 kilometres of new on-road cycle lanes
  • new signalised intersection at Dumas Street
  • a speed limit of 60km/h along the length between Ginninderra Drive and the Barton Highway
  • additional bus stops and upgrading of existing ones.
