Age Friendly Suburbs Program

Project description

The Age Friendly Suburbs Program (AFSP) aims to deliver pathways and pathway related infrastructure (such as road and pram crossings) to provide better access for the aged community as well as other pathway users who may have more specific mobility needs.

The Program has been underway since the 2015-16 financial year and is funded until 2021, with six suburbs having received upgrades so far: Weston, Ainslie, Monash, Kaleen, Page and Hughes. Read about the improvements here. The next six suburbs to receive funding for these upgrades are Narrabundah, Isabella Plains, Stirling, Campbell, Aranda and Holt.

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the proposed list of priorities for the suburbs of Aranda, Campbell, Holt, Isabella Plains, Narrabundah and Stirling. We compiled this list of priorities for each suburb from previous community feedback collated from Fix My Street requests and the Community Path Priority List and asked you to have your say on that list and help us determine which priority should be delivered as part of this Program. A report summarising the feedback we received is now available.

Funding Value: $1.65 million
