- Always let the ash cool down before placing in the rubbish bin
- Ensure the ash is bagged
Why?
Do not dispose of in compost or worm farm. Ash changes the pH to alkaline which is not suitable for most plants and toxic to worms. Bagging prevents the waste from spilling onto the street as the bin is being emptied into the truck which keeps our neighbourhoods and waterways clean.
