Budget 2019-20

We received funding for the following initiatives in the 2019-20 ACT Budget.

Planning and design for Athllon Drive duplication
Planning will be undertaken and design works prepared for the duplication of sections of Athllon Drive that are currently one lane in each direction. Athllon Drive is an important road link for Tuggeranong residents and these works will assess the upgrades needed on the road to respond to development in the area and improve safety.

Palmerston shops car park
It will be easier for Palmerston residents to find a park at their local shopping precinct, with up to 25 new spaces to be introduced. The car park facilities at the local shops will be upgraded to increase safety and support the patronage of local businesses.

Cooleman Court car park
Development in the Molonglo Valley means more people are shopping at Cooleman Court. To make it easier for visitors to find a park, up to 150 additional new car parks will be introduced. The upgrade at Cooleman Court will continue the works recently completed on Parkinson Street and will provide additional parking capacity. The works will also improve safety and make it easier for vehicles to enter and exit the shopping precinct.

Well Station Drive Park and Ride
To make it easier to use our network of buses and light rail, we’ll expand park and ride facilities across the ACT. A Well Station Drive park and ride facility has been identified as a priority, to provide an alternative opportunity for parking near light rail outside Gungahlin Town Centre. The chosen location is ideal as it’s an open space that is located close to surrounding suburbs and a light rail station (Well Station Drive).
