Resource Management Centres

On 1 February 2018 the Recycling Drop Off Centre (RDOC) at the West Belconnen Resource Management Centre will be permanently closed to the public. The closest alternative RDOC is located on Jolly Street in Belconnen.


Mugga Resource Management Centre

Location: Mugga Lane, SYMONSTON, ACT
Open: 7.30 am - 5 pm, seven days per week
Closed Good Friday and Christmas Day.

Resource Management Centres are places for ACT residents to dispose of items that don’t belong in household wheelie bins.

What can I drop off?

Reusable items for FREE – Drop off reusable items free of charge or purchase them at bargain prices. Visit The Green Shed website to see what can and cannot be accepted.

Green Waste for FREE – Drop off your green waste to Corkhill Brothers for FREE, conditions apply, check the Corkhill Brothers website for details.

Household Recycling for FREE – Paper, cardboard, glass, aluminium, steel and firm plastic packaging can be recycled at the Recycling Drop Off Centre (paper cage and recycling hoppers) at Mugga RMC.

Mattresses – Unwanted mattresses can be dropped off for a fee at Mugga RMC. Save money and drop your mattresses at Soft Landing in Hume!

e-Waste for FREE – Electronic waste can be dropped off for FREE near the Transfer Station at Mugga Lane RMC (follow the signs on site). Conditions apply, visit the hazardous waste page for details.

Hazardous Waste for FREE – Limits apply. Visit the hazardous waste page to find out what is accepted.

Waste to landfill – As a last resort general waste that cannot be reused or recycled can be dropped off at the Transfer Station at Mugga Lane RMC (follow the signs on site), fees apply. This includes: construction and demolition materials, oversize objects.
