Reference groups

Individuals and representatives from business and industry interested in playing an active role in designing the future of waste management in the ACT and region are invited to join the ACT Waste Feasibility Study community or commercial reference groups.

Reference groups play a valuable role in informing the recommendations and strategies which will be provided to the ACT Government to improve waste management. For information on meetings, visit our Events page.

Ongoing consultation

Several activities to engage stakeholders are underway or have occurred since the inception of the study including:

  • a public consultation on the Draft Waste Management and Resource Recovery Bill
  • a key influencer group made up of waste industry experts and advocates who provide input and a peer-review mechanism
  • a peer-review panel made up of individuals from small-to-medium enterprises formally engaged as subject matter experts to advise on approach and opportunities for change
  • meeting with resource recovery businesses, presentations at meetings, public workshops, seminars and conferences.
